My Hyundai I30

There's no argument that your first car will always be one of the ones you remember the most, and for me that is certainly true. I have been obsessed with cars ever since I was young, my favourite toy growing up was a small red ford focus and when I was old enough to play xbox instead, the only games I ever played were the Forza horizon series, even still today! I have been incredibly lucky to get a Hyundai I30 for my first car, a nice one too! Although not the most powerful and having only 100bhp, that's enough to keep the insurance down for the first couple of years. After passing my test in May 2022, my car has become my pride and joy, spending hours changing and improving things and making it a car that I love driving daily, so much so I've become obsessed with driving! This has opened up the world to me now, allowing me to take myself biking and have more freedom in where I go. Now also with my personalised N321 APP plate to symbolise "Noah Appleby".

The interior is of high quality and unlike competitors of the ford focus and vw golf, has mainly soft touch materials which makes it feel like a more premium car. Upgrading and adding some carbon effect to the steering wheel added some visual qualities.

The standard radio that came in the car was ok, but the bluetooth connectivity was slow and a job to connect each time. Being someone who likes modern items, I upgraded and fitted a new 9 inch touchscreen with CarPlay myself, learning along the way!

Outside I'd go as far to say the mk2 Hyundai i30 is a pretty good looking car, with sweeping edges and a slightly curvy nature to it. Since owning the car, I have wrapped the mirrors black, the grille black and also resprayed the wheels to tone of silver and black. I have also since tinted the windows and are planning to tint the roof.

As a whole the car is a gorgeous car to drive, with a good ride comfort and responsive steering in 3 modes of city, normal or sport. 0-60mph isn't the fastest, but it's enough until I eventually upgrade to my dream hot hatch, a Hyundai i30 N in light blue! My only complaint is the fuel economy at 35mpg average... :/
